Ritter Butzke in Kreuzberg, Berlin is a crazy triad of dancefloors, techno and mayhem not to be missed [Read the Nightclub & Bar Review]
Nightclub & Bar Review
Ritter Butzke nightclub resides in a refurbed factory in Kreuzberg, just a 5 min walk from the Moritzplatz U-bahn, and it is without a doubt one of the coolest clubs in the city, standing-out even in the ridiculously awesome and crowded Berlin nightclub scene.
You make your way through an arch and into a large courtyard, and the buzz in the air and the excited clubbers will give you the clue you're in the right place. Note - there's another, smaller, less jampacked club almost right next to Ritter Butzke, but you have to go downstairs for that one so remember that Ritter is on ground-level:) Be prepared for quite a long-line of people and a pat-down, and if you can try to get on the club guestlist to avoid waiting around too long.
One of the coolest and most confusing things about the layout of Ritter Butzke is that it has 3 separate rooms all connected to each other, and it's almost a guarantee that if you're enjoying yourself and having a few drinks that they will all blur into each-other. The great thing is that the different rooms all come with a unique vibe and music, so if you're not feeling one spot or just want to check out a different group of people it only takes 10 seconds to change rooms.
Ritter Butzke is a nightclub in Berlin, so you shouldn't be surprised that, like Tresor, Berghain and Watergate you're gonna hear Techno, House and Electro on the dancefloor, but the DJ's are consistently awesome and the crowd is up-for-it so even if that's not your style you'll end up having a good time. The clubbers at Ritter Butzke are generally around their early 20's, but don't be surprised to find people on the dancefloor going all the way up to their 40's - some of these people have been clubbing since the wall fell and are still going hard;)
The vibe at Ritter Butzke is fantastic, the music is great, the drinks are cheap (I <3 Berlin nightclubs!) and it goes late, late, late. Dig it.
