Nightclub & Bar Review
Winner of Club of the Year 2010 at the Quintessentially awards, Boujis is famous / infamous for a few things. One - yes, certain members of the Royals have been known to drop it like it’s hot here. Two - you don’t have to be wealthy to come here (well - at least not on Wednesdays and Thursdays), but it certainly helps. Three - Boujis is to paparazzi as moth is to flame. Since opening in 2002, Boujis has carved a niche all of its own in the London club scene due to a super-vibrant party atmosphere, a cool interior design that’s stylish yet intimate, and a top-notch soundsystem.
Basically the club is spread around one large room, with lots of little alcoves that provide a feeling of separated spaces. Lounges revolve around a central dancefloor, with a large bar off to the side and some very intricate lighting that adorns the wall and ceilings, providing a moody and mildly dreamlike atmosphere. The music at Boujis is upbeat and always crowd-pleasing, and the team here manage to bring in some of the best DJs around, so you can expect to hear anything from dancefloor R’n’B through to Commercial House and pop-laced Electro.
The dancefloor can get a little messy at times, but that’s half the fun, with some of London’s up-and-comers going for it in one of the best clubs in the city. As mentioned though, Boujis is members only for the most part, and even being on the guestlist is not a sure-thing. Dress the part, make some friends and be on your best behaviour for the bouncers...
